Good Lord.

I haven't posted an open post in a long ass time.

Hell, I've made all of THREE posts this year. I don't know what the fuck happened most of the year besides that I have some of it... I hope... recorded on twitter. I've taken to recording things in my school calendar book just to keep track of where all my weekends are going. Originally, I asked for a calendar book to keep track of all my paychecks - I get up to four twice a month - but I'm glad I have somewhere to quickly jot down things that doesn't involve sharing it with all the people on twitter.

I've been checking LJ almost daily anyway, so it's not like I've been ignoring it, just haven't been writing.

I found when I am not busy or emotional I write more. In fact, I made a extensive journal to myself not long ago that is deeply personal (private)... but that's no good for you guys, is it?

I tried to transition somewhat to Tumblr but have found it more of a gif/cool stuff haven for nerds that generally lacks the personal updates of here or Facebook. Good for finding neat things, but so many people I follow spam it that I lose interest.

I did start using this as a log to share things with people and keep track of my life, but I do like seeing other people write. I miss the thoughtful posts old friends used to make. Now my friends page has mainly turned into a list of artists/commissioners to beware of.

So, not sure where to go from here. You can blame roadkill_hyena for this, since I had honestly not noticed that besides August, my last post was in February :I

Something fun: Livejournal is blocked from one school district I work at because it is labeled as ADULT. (Not blog, which some news sites are under.
Also, reminding myself that I need to remember the lady meet, bowling, the renaissance festival, visiting Bob and probably something else I need to check on twitter.

This laptop - a Thinkpad T530 - so far has been worth the money. The stats (posted on FA) have led to the performance I was expecting. I can play Minecraft again with decent graphics settings, I can multitask again, the sound and picture is good, having backlights is cool, and the keyboard is surprising great. The keys are indented and some are raised or lowered depending on use, which is neat. I find myself making a lot less spelling mistakes. The battery is AWESOME. After two hours of about average use.... I have five hours of battery left XD

When I got it out of the box, I noticed it was a lot lighter - and a lot sturdier - than my old Acer Aspire. I honestly feel like this will hold up the amount I intend to use it; the case is very stiff and the screen doesn't move even when wobbled.

The downsides are as people posted. The battery is a tad wobbly. I worry it's going to pop out, but it's firmly latched in, just not firmly set. This thing needs more RAM but that'll be fixed in the near future. I was warned of some bloatware and have noticed it, but I'm not sure what I need or not << The multitouch/gesture keypad is taking some getting used to. I have to position my fingers funny to make it scroll, but in general it's very convenient. One review said there were some heat issues, but they were maxing out the computer. As of yet, this computer has been incredibly cool and I can sit with it comfortably :D

Customer service  - when I got a hold of them - is pretty decent, but of course, not American. I'm still not happy that I couldn't look at my order status/details until my computer was sent out, which was almost two weeks after I ordered it. I was also annoyed that I had to be home to sign for it, though it's really good on them for doing it. I just live in a neighborhood that I'm not worried about theft.

We'll see how it goes. Overall, I'm looking forward to taking this everywhere c:

Uh....

I think I'm going to do Christmas cards this year. I failed horribly in 2008(?) so I want to try again.

Better start early :I

I had a hellacious day and it's not over yet. I still need to go grocery shopping, do laundry, finish my lesson for tomorrow, maybe make a study guide, and hope that the sir I subbed for today is back tomorrow. Kids know when you're giving them BS work so I had ALL KINDS of problems today because that's the only work I had! I need to work high school more often, but I think I keep getting stuck with middle because I'm willing.

I'm honestly considering a factory job or something if this doesn't improve. Consistent hours, better pay, and less stress might be a nice change.

How are y'all? Yanno, any of you who haven't switched exclusively to Twitter, Tumblr, or similar.

I miss talking to people other than manface and jerkface and sisterface.

What it's like to be a freelance artist.

For all of y'all who aren't in the FB group and don't watch my twitter XD

Wtf.

My laptop screen is slowly turning blue. It'll switch back to normal occasionally, but the blue times are lasting longer and longer. It just started today.

What do? :/

I might have to get a desktop AND a new lappy sooner than expected.

You got beef with me?

I want to know.

Certain people have been ignoring my comments - while commenting on others!, seem to have blocked me from seeing certain parts of their account, or act strange around me now.

I don't know if anyone who HAS beef with me will read this, but if they do, I want to know what's up.

Comments are screened so no one gets to see your beef but me :V

Whoops.

I haven't posted in a LONG ASS TIME. I don't think I'll be able to remember everything that's happened, jeebus :I

Bad me! I need to post at least to remind myself of stuff that's happened T.T

News:

Just got back from vacation. I'm not near tan enough, but I blame that on not going to the beach much. No one wants to go to the beach, or swim :C I caught two crabs though, saved one from the pool, and one climbed in my shoe...while I was wearing it. I also ate way too much steak because seafood places don't always have chicken fingers :I Long post ain't gonna happen here. (Wow, Firefox doesn't recognize ain't or gonna as being misspelled...)

I now have Minecraft, which is still laggy on my laptop. I've been trying all sorts of things to fix it, but I'll probably have to buy some more RAM and finally get some other OS besides Vista. At least I built a house... once I found my way out of the jungle I spawned in.

I've been going to strange places eating strange food with friends. I look forward to the monthly local food meets, and have been trying to broaden my food horizons a little, while still avoiding mushrooms, beans, and seafood.

This fall, I will (likely) not have a full time job so I can do more school stuff to add certs for teaching stuff. Though really, I'm not sure about anything right now.

I really have the best friends, even though I don't talk to them often (if you're reading this, you are likely included!). I have the introvert's habit of having one reeeally close friend (my boyfriend) and a bunch of people I consider friends, but don't talk to a lot. I just feel like most of my stuff to talk about is whiny - hi Twitter! - or pointless.

I think a lot and often too hard. I spend more time in my brain than in the rest of my body, if that makes sense.

Hope you all who still check LJ are doing okay. Sometimes the walls of text that is my friends page discourages me from reading them all <<

I am friends with a bunch if people. Well, I say friends, but I tend to develop what I consider "friendship" even with minimal interaction. I don't know if my friends would call me a friend, but whatevs. Not the point.

Thing is, I know a bunch of those friends don't like each other. Some of them refuse to even be around the other.

At cons and in social settings, I just tend to hang with who I feel like. I think I'm a floater. I wonder if that makes me open minded, or just a turd? :I

Year End Meme

I've found I like doing this every year to see how things change.

1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
Rafted a class V rapid, got/drove a new car, got hit by a deer, drove a rental car (that wasn't a Ford), spent time in Atlanta, got a college degree, helped at a summer camp, got to go to my first concert (Interpol), student taught, bought more expensive gifts than ever before, dyed fabric, bought a hookah, set it up alone... that I can think of off the top of my head.

No, not really. And no, probably not. I have the most general goals in mind. (Same every year.)

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No, thankfully.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

So I pull this switch
The switch, the switch inside my head
And I see black black, green and brown brown brown brown,
And blue yellow violet's red

And suddenly a light appears inside my brain
And I think of my ways, I think of my days
And know that I have changed

It's the colours you have
No need to be sad
It really ain't that bad
